update on a gentle breeze…

Hi everyone!  (whomever is still reading…)

First off, I am feeling MUCH better!

I had gotten myself in a real negative loop.  I had heard about Louise Hay, but I started e-reading one of her books, and even only 1/3 of the way in, it has changed my life!  Re-teaching ourselves new ways of talking to ourselves can be a powerful thing!  After so many months of physical struggle, that became an emotional and mental struggle, I’m now recovering by re-training my self talk.  It’s working miracles.  So that is GOOD.  Very good.  🙂

It is also improving my physical health.  I knew that my digestive issues were/had become as much emotionally induced as physical, and now that I’m making such great strides in THAT, it’s all gotten so much better.  🙂

We just got back from a wonderful weekend in Las Vegas (despite the inconveniences of Las Vegas Blvd. being shut down for almost 8 hours on Saturday!)…and other than avoiding paprika, I ate normal and had no issues whatsoever.  First trip in 13 months where I can say that.  It was a real vacation, even though it was only Friday-Sunday.

Now, re blogging.  I have decided that between working 40 hours a week, and fitting everything else in…after having blogged almost 7 days a week for over 5 years, I just don’t have much to say.  (LOL).  Trying to fit in gardening, exercise, TV, reading, and other hobbies…and well, worrying about new blog topics all the time just is bottom of my priority list for now.  Maybe once I officially retired in 18-24 months or so, I might sing a new tune.  I do hope to check in with all the blogs over on my sidebar, once or twice a week starting again soon.  I will be keeping this blog url though…I have learned to never say never, and if/when I do return to blogging; whether that’s at retirement time, or sooner if a new desire arises, I like the name and want to keep it.

So that’s where I’m at.  I don’t expect to do any new posting anytime soon, but I wanted to catch up with you all and let you know that I am doing so much better.  And thank you for your support.  And to say I hope to keep up with you via your own blogs.  If you don’t have a blog, or want to use another medium to keep in touch, you can always email me at:  silverwillow02@gmail.com.

You guys are wonderful.  I’m sure you already know that, but I wanted you to hear it again from me.

Thanks for your support!

7 days a week for 5 years? Yikes. I'd be burned out, too. It's why I only blog on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. And why I made Wednesdays a blog about what I read (because that was the WORST day to come up with ideas). Blogging should be fun. If it's stopped being that, then why do it?

Glad you're feeling better and taking care of yourself.

I hope I'm on your list of blogs to read 🙂 I don't understand why you feel the need to blog so often? I blog about once a week – sometimes less but then I get reminded that I've not blogged 🙂 You could blog once a month perhaps? Let us know how you are and how things are in your part of the world. I enjoy reading a different perspective on life. Keep well and I look forward to keeping in contact one way or another.

Thanks, Lynda! I guess I always felt if I didn't blog regularly, I'd fall off people's radar. Then I boxed myself into a corner. Oh well….for now, blogging just isn't a necessity anymore. We'll see where my path takes me. Thanks!

I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better, and I did those Louise Hay affirmations years ago to good effect. I look forward to you coming back when you're ready. Wishing you well! 🙂

“You Can Heal Your Life” is exactly what I'm reading. And totally life-changing. I'm retraining myself to change the negative self talk, and I'm totally amazed at how quickly it impacts my life in a HUGE way!

Good to know you guys have my back. I (re?)discovered today that my good retirement (SS benefits) age is 66 (this Sept.), not 67 (Sept. 2018 age)….I do want to pay off my car first (July 2018), so I doubt I'll officially retire before then, but….. 😉 That said, I get an extra 8% for every year I stay past Sept. 2017, so….options. Nice to have options. :)\

I've strongly embraced the idea that language mediates our actions. So, the language in our heads is going to have an effect on our whole being — mind, body, spirit. Doesn't negate our ability to view life realistically — is not a Pollyanna view or looking at life through rise-colored glasses. I believe it's a healthy way to live, but doesn't mean we never have illness. Glad you're doing well.

My intent when I started blogging was that it would be an enjoyable experience in which to engage at my leisure. The actual writing, editing, took more time than I imagined. When I realized a blogging sense of obligation was dictating what I was doing instead of the other way around, I changed to posting when I feel like it. Along the way I have taken breaks, posted only a few times in a year, actually stopped posting only to return later. I never lack for topics but how pertinent they are, or even if they're of interest to others I don't know as they're just what's crossing my mind at various times, or reference to some of my activities. Will look forward to whenever you choose to return to writing here.

I wrote a blog post 7 days a week for five years too and went to 5 days a week about two years ago. It was a weight off my shoulders. I also take a brief blog hiatus to refresh myself too. I just read Joared's comment and think someday I will do the same thing also. I'm so glad you're feeling better. Your health (physical and emotional) are the most important things.
