Update

…in case anyone is still reading.  Well, have been going through a health crisis, with symptoms that could’ve spelled colon or rectal cancer.  It took 5 weeks to get to see all the appropriate doctors and run the appropriate tests, but my colonoscopy was today, and not a single polyp, and only minor stuff causing my symptoms.

Being that I had never had a colonoscopy before (bad, bad Silver)…due to a history of many uric acid kidney stones often formed by bad diarrhea, that had been my excuse.  Let me tell you, when you are approaching 65 and 15 years overdue for that first colonoscopy, and getting 2-3 symptoms that all spell colon cancer or rectal cancer, and see what THAT can lead to, you get over your wussiness about a ‘mere’ kidney stone.  Again.   Add a very strong OCD tendency, and I was all about worst-case scenario for 5 weeks.  To the point I was creating ‘how to’ documents for my every task at work, fearing I would have to insta-retire.  Not a fun way to live through April and May.

But I’m good.  I have my life back.

Now, I have to decide if I want to return to blogging or not.  There are clearly benefits, but some negatives as well, at least for me.  I need to think a bit on it.

But I wanted to give you an update.  And to let you know sorry I retreated from everything, including your blogs.  I hope to start visiting again very soon, at the very least.  🙂

Thanks for still checking on me.  xo

Condolences tonyou and yiur family from us and we had been there and done that as they say a few times between us. It is heartbreaking to lose a dear friend. Take time to heal and keep those special memories of time together.

That last day at work will be here before you know it! I'm next door in L.A. County and have friends in Orange Co. — can appreciate what you're saying. You may not escape it in AZ.

It's nice they are giving you time to train your assistant. My boss said that would happen and he and I tried but then she'd pull him away to work another project. When I left, he was at sea…

I remember how excited I was to retire, and now it's been a decade. I'm glad for you, and I look forward to your return. Your posts are always fun. 🙂

Are you talking about the GOP? Yeah, I know, AZ is 'red.' But it's starting to turn a little magenta. With any luck, I can help it go purple. But frankly, I live in a pretty upscale area of OC, so it's pretty 'red' too.

Nah. My last day is a Tuesday, and half of it will be eaten up (literally) by a department going away lunch about 30 minutes away, then exit interview between 2-3, then boom. DONE. 🙂

Yeah, I'm back to there now. I just look briefly once or twice a day and I'm trying to just let it roll. I don't have the energy, stamina, or drive to stay at it persistently. I'm too old for marathons. 😉

Wow, 30 days. Those will pass like sand in an hour glass. So happy for you!The political situation is enough to make you want to pull your hair out. I try to understand, and sadly it's too complicated for this pea brain!xoxo

Son enough, you will really be able to relax a bit more now that the final countdown is on. Retirement is a wonderful past time and we've been doing it for quite a number of years with no regrets!
