I try not to let the stupidity get to me, but when the orange guy said in the speech justifying his actions, “At what point will they stop laughing at us as a country”, I yelled at the television, “WHEN YOU'RE OUT OF THE PICTURE!”

I cannot believe how much damage that man has caused in such a short time. Will we even survive his administration, if I can call it that? 🙂

We are a resilient country. I have to believe we will, even if it gets far worse before it gets better. Perhaps a case of 'you don't know how good you have it until you start to lose it'…? But I have hope. Because without it, we have nothing. 🙂

I am crushed, appalled and embarrassed for our country. We will survive but I think it will be a brutal survival and a long, long comeback.

I agree. I've learned to brace myself, though, rather than become absorbed. I think a lot of my early 2017 health issues were related. I've learned to emotionally brace myself better. It took a few months, though…

Due to checks and balances, this will be a slow process. But I don't see it getting better before it gets worse. He's a slo-mo train just waiting to happen. What will be the final straw is still anyone's guess. Brace yourself; the ride is going to get even bumpier… :: hugs ::

No one with a brain in the Whitehouse?…..how about so many people still like and approve of him and call the real news the fake news and the fake news the real news. Just where are their brains? He isn't all that stupid, as he plays to his base beautifully, but they are so easily played. That is what is pathetic and THEY are responsible for how the US looks in the eyes of the world.

By choice, though. Remember that. If it doesn't fit his agenda, he doesn't want to hear about it, won't believe it. I suppose, in a way, we all are, but still; I hold The President of The Free World to a higher standard.

Mary, you are right, of course, but if I've learned nothing over the past 9 months, it's that it's pointless to call names and blame my fellow man/acquaintances/relatives. The reality is that about 35% of Americans will follow him into a foxhole. 35% of Americans are diehard Democrats. It's the other 30% of apathetic people that have to be swayed. It not only does no good to fight and name call the 35% of the population that is diehard Republicans, it hurts our hearts and our souls and our relationships with people we care deeply about…to do so. I am no longer of that ilk. I will attack the figurehead they put in office. I will attack their attack of 'facts' that they'd rather brand 'fake' by pointing out the legitimacy of them. But I won't fight the 35% any more. Digging our heels into the trenches and getting in a battle of name-calling achieves nothing positive, it only makes hatred and contempt grow, and I'm fed up with hatred and contempt. I've been caught up in it in the past and it was an awful place to reside. So I've chosen to just not live my remaining time on this gorgeous planet in that kind of battle any more.

Trump is an evil man, but I have hope that he'll do something blatant enough, but not world-destroying, that will show that the Emperor has no clothes, and we can begin the process to remove him from power, one way or another. I will keep my focus on HIM, not his supporters. I will never be able to change them, and I accept that.

Our President doesn't want you to muddy the water with facts — only his version matters for, after all, what do the scientists know!
