I could…

I’ve struggled to come up with a topic the past 24-48 hours.

I could talk about how gut-wrenching it is to read about innocent people, (children and pregnant women included), attending a church service, were brutally gunned down and killed by a madman who had no business being able to purchase a gun, let alone an assault rifle.

I could rant about how insane it is that ANY private citizen can buy assault rifles.

I could debate that our forefathers had no inkling that anything like an assault rifle would ever be created.

I could rant about our lowly president, all his soup-du-jour failings, or the mounting exposed failings of those he surrounds himself with.

I could wax on about the complicit GOP congress members.

Yeah, no.  I don’t need to raise the old blood pressure.  So I won’t today, haven’t.

But it’s hard to think about much else, you know?

I hear you. For me, sometimes NOT writing about what is bothering me raises my blood pressure more than getting it out in the open. But rather than blog about it I go to political debate sites and get it out of my system. We all have to do what we have to do to live in these insane times!

Even though I'm all the way over here in New Zealand I am well aware of all that you are saying. Bad news travels. I keep myself up to date with world events and all that you speak of saddens me too.

This is from Wikipedia “In one study, it has been estimated that 31% of public mass shootings occur in the U.S., although it has only 5% of the world's population. CNN cites a study by criminologist A. Lankford that finds that “there are more public mass shootings in the United States than in any other country in the world”.

I won't even discuss that new man in the white house – he should not be there.

I've had days where I want to rant about all the rhings that are weighing me down. It would be so easy ro get it all out. But in the end I decide it would be best not to. Hang in there and take care

I'm going to start reading a new novel, figuring I might as well go into a fictional universe where things are not real. Looking for relief from the reality of the world around me. 😦

Deep Breath, debating all the bad stuff going on won't change anything but your blood pressure, I just pray to God all of this senselessness stops, no matter who is to blame we have to fix it…first is our blood pressure though.

Jimmy, I don't debate. I accepted a few months ago that GOP are stuck in their mindset. Glad to see early returns are starting to show that perhaps the tide is changing, though. No worries. Thanks for caring, though!

Yes, I know. I was completely appalled to hear some say we should now carry guns to church on Sunday. The answer to the problem of gun violence is more guns? I think not. And research is out there showing it is not.
