No, not the scented stuff.

Stream of consciousness thoughts here…

It’s b.s. that my middle grandson’s soccer team that was undefeated in the regular season (with 1 tie), won their two playoff games, but are being penalized for scoring so much in those playoff games and are now being told that they can only play this weekend for THIRD place.  When they took a 5 goal lead in both playoff games, they switched out their forwards as they are supposed to.  It’s not their fault that other kids scored too!  This is total b.s.  and just teaching the kids the wrong thing.  I understand good sportsmanship, but I don’t like the message they are sending the kids to not try their best.  I’m pissed, frankly.

This Is Us is just heartbreaking this season.  Last night’s episode KILLED.  Amazing stuff!

Bad Moms Xmas was HYSTERICAL.  My new favorite Xmas movie.

Can’t wait for Justice League this Saturday.  Especially since we get to share it with my older daughter and oldest grandson.

I can’t wait to retire.

I can’t believe Xmas is almost here.

I need to lose some weight.

My mom, at 91…is really starting to slow down (finally.)  It’s sad and she’s stressed.  She’s always been a nervous woman, but it’s getting bad/sad to watch.  😦

I can’t believe Xmas is almost here; gotta start shopping!

I hate shopping.

That’s it for now.  🙂

I'm already dreading Christmas. I hope to do as much shopping online as I can to avoid shopping at all, but this year we are having all the family here on Christmas day. Not my idea of fun at all!

sorry, Joe! Yep, I'm not the normal woman. I hate shopping. I used to love to find 'home run' gifts, but it gets harder and harder every year. Most people just want the convenience of a gift card. Takes the fun of the hunt and the specialness out of gift-giving.

Oh I'm sorry, Ann! I lost a lost of weight being low carb and mostly grain free, but now my UC all but requires the exact opposite; hard to eat vegetables, and my gut most 'appreciates' grains (not whole grain, but processed white grains. Which have no nutritional value.) It's a rough choice but the UC is winning. :: hugs ::

Me either! This is AYSO. I still can't believe that they are vacating WINS (10-1, 7-1) in playoffs for this! I know at 9 years old, the kids care less than the adults do, but it's the principle. It's just insane in my opinion.

I cannot understand the reasoning behind those soccer rules. Why not just declare every game a tie because we certainly don't want to raise a generation of people who have no clue how to handle defeat and disappointment.
I am in a panic over Thanksgiving being next week. Then I will panic about Christmas.

Christmas is coming and the New Year's Resolutions to lose weight are not far behind. The stress eating has taken its toll on me this year.

I love stream of consciousness writing, thanks for sharing yours.

I don't usually look forward to Christmas but this year both my daughters will be here so we are going to have a fabulous time together.

We haven't been able to find anything in the National AYSO published online 'rules and policies' file, or on the Regional's website. So not sure yet what is going to happen, but it really makes no sense.

Sorry you are in a panic over T-Day. Me, not so much. I have to do 2 labor-intensive dishes, but not host the whole shebang. 🙂 Good luck!

i'm sorry. you just crack me up.
that old saying… “tell us how you REALLY feel” came to mind. LOLOL!
but I agree about the soccer. that just sounds ridiculous.

With all that’s going on can appreciate you must have many topics racing through your thoughts, as do I, and wonder what to settle on. I considered a potpourri title just recently, but instead froze and wrote nothing until my current post released me.

That sounds like crazy soccer rules. Difficult for you watching your Mom’s changes as I think of my Mom years ago, so think of how you must feel. Christmas is quite a pressure-less season for me in recent years which I don’t mind in the least.

That doesn't seem like a very good solution. There are sometimes things that coaches can do to not run up the score. In the first game that I coached in softball (as a head coach) they ran up the score on us a lot making plays that were unnecessary like squeezing in steals from third base when they were already up by 30 runs. With a later, stronger team to coach, one of the weaker teams said they like playing us because of our less competitive attitude. We still won by a lot, but there was no need to be super aggressive.

  12. Silver Willow

Oh exactly! I get that. Both of my daughters played 'travel' softball right through high school. I get all about competitiveness. But they switched out their forwards, and still scored. What was one to do? Just stand there and let the other team make all the moves? If so, just call a mercy rule situation, and end the game earlier.

I think these outings must continue if there is to be any expectation of permanent change. — in all businesses, professions, organizations, academia — as the surface has not even been scratched. Everyone not directly affected, especially males, must make it clear such behavior won’t be tolerated. No more of this in the news for a time, then sweep it away because some have had enough.
