We went to Pechanga casino yesterday.  Had a nice lunch, and fun gambling on penny slot machines for a few hours before we headed home.  I didn’t do well, but stayed within my allotted amount of gambling money and cut myself off when I still had $13 of it left.

Lots of fun.  Sure, could’ve been MORE fun had I left ‘ahead’.

Then, we came home to the news that my hubby’s favorite aunt has duodenal cancer that has spread to her liver.  ugh.  😦

Hope you had a great weekend!

So sorry to hear about your husband's aunt. I haven't gambled in a long time but, I always expect to lose when I do. I bet that's why I don't do it very much.

So sorry, it is an awful disease. No words can make it better, but you both have my very best wishes, I have been there a few times in recent years.

sorry to hear about your husband's aunt. cancer sucks. we drove through Las Vegas on our way to California once. neither of us gambles but we allowed for a loss of $20. We each got $10 in nickels and when that was gone we left.

That works well. I never allow myself more than $50 a day, even when in Vegas. I prefer to sit in the sports bar and watch games or horse races for free. Money is too important to fritter it away on gambling. Of course, I place in a football pool, but that's only $5 a week. 🙂

All cancer diagnosis' are bad but that one in particular is nasty. I've only been to one casino in my life. That was back in the days when smoking was everywhere and I'm allergic, so I've never been back.

Funny you mentioned that! This particular casino (esp. being in CA), has a no-smoking section. We try to stay mostly there. But even still….but yesterday, as we walked out, hubby actually said 'I hardly smelled any cigarette smoke in there at all! Much better than usually!' I think they are improving their systems of air filtration all the time. :)I can get asthma from too much cigarette smoke, so I have to be careful too.

Sorry t9 hear about your husband's aunt. I always had a very small limit when we went to the casino. Once in was gone we were done. I've never been very lucky there

Yeah, we left a good hour longer than I had hoped for. But we were sitting in a lounge area, checking our phones, and I said “we could be doing this at home.” He laughed, and we got up and left. 🙂

That is sad about your husband's aunt.Nice that you had some fun at the casino. Too bad you didn't hit a jackpot, but if you were on penny slots, you probably wouldn't have upped the date of retirement even if you had!

Regret your husband’s aunt’s diagnosis, Have only played the slots in NV and never won any big pots. Is a distraction best enjoyed with a set limit as you did, I think. Maybe another time Lady Luck will smile on you.

thanks! Came home and saw the background image that looked great on the cheap work monitor, looked awful on the good monitor at home. So I loaded a different one instead. At least the banner header was good! 🙂

Terrible news about your husband's aunt. I am hearing bad news lately it seems from friends. It's either their sibling , Mom , Dad etc.. Seems like when I hit 60 everybody started falling apart. My thyroid decided it wasn't gonna work like its supposed to, so meds for that. What else? Gotta live all we can and enjoy the heck out of the time we are given. I just love your banner picture! Gorgeous!

So sorry about your husbands favorite aunt. She must be special to have earned that title. May they cure it or at least keep her comfortable. Wish we had casinos close by. I do love the penny slots. The same fun and excitement with little risk.

Thanks, Betsy. I was due for a decor change around here. :)Yes, we get older, our connections get older, crap starts happening. We just need to take good care of ourselves and enjoy every good moment we have left. 🙂

Yes…penny slots are the best. The aunt is starting chemo. If it were me I don't know that I would, but I am not up-to-date on treatment option potential outcomes, so who am I to say. I wish her the best, of course. So sad. 😦
