Happy 10th to my sweet, funny Jack (part 2)

I can’t believe he’s already 10!  He is the happiest, sweetest kid I think I’ve ever known.  And most certainly the funniest!  He definitely inherited my dad’s sense of humor.  Always joking.  🙂

Here’s some of my favorite photos of his first 10 years…

With mommy…and daddy….

 Those eyes…oh, those eyes!

The sense of humor was already shining…

Yes, a clown from a VERY early age.  LOL

Not entirely in focus, but one of my favorite photos I EVER took!

Yeah, a little out of chronological order.  Sorry.

Just as thrilled with presents way back when, too.  🙂

With his little brother.  He’s SUCH an amazing big brother!

Yes, had to sneak one in with me.  🙂

Again, out of order.  Sorry.  But a face and smile to die for.

Last year was his Harry Potter year.  LOL

All 3 of my grandsons, last month.

Oh Jack, how you have enriched my life.  Love you to the moon and back.

Jack turns 10, part 1

My sweet, funny, kind middle grandson, Jack, turns 10 officially tomorrow.  But yesterday, we had the family party.

Here are some photo highlights…

This is Jack with a cousin, his dad in the background, and his paternal grandma.  🙂

Honestly, he is just THE best kid!  Sweet, loveable, funny as hell, and kind as the day is long.  (smart little whipper snapper, too.)  I just adore Jack.

Tomorrow, part 2, will be celebrating Jack through his 10 years.  🙂

Yesterday was a very lovely day.  As soon as I got up, I settled into to watch the BBC’s recording I made of the royal wedding.

I blubbered on…when Harry and William got out of the car in all their military splendor, when the trumpets played, with Meghan unveiled her gorgeous, classy gown, when Harry whispered ‘you look amazing!’ to her, yeah, pretty much through all of it.

I forgot how much I love royal weddings.  Hubby doesn’t understand it.  The best explanation is, I guess because I’m a girl.  We grow up reading fantasy about princesses.  My generation fell in love with Diana….the closeness she shared with her boys, her tragedy, and their rise to find love on their own terms….and yet still honoring their mother’s love.  What’s not to love?  🙂

Then, got ready for and went to my oldest grandson’s 21st birthday party.  The restaurant was small and very happily set up the meal I had requested due to being extremely low fat right now, post surgery.  Yes, there was cheesy garlic bread, Caesar salad, loaded baked potatoes, lots of pizza, and homemade German chocolate cake (and of course lots of alcohol, he was celebrating being 21!!!), but I just smiled through it all, drank my water and waited for my special dinner.  I got to sit next to the birthday boy, so I still had a wonderful time.  Here are some photos:

Drew and his mom, my older daughter, Shelley…

Such a lovely day!

First off, the weather was AMAZING.  About 80 degrees, but a nice cool breeze.

We started off by going to lunch, because Luke’s party was at 4 so we weren’t sure if there would be anything besides dessert.  (I forgot to ask.)

Then we went to Jack’s soccer game (Luke’s older brother.)  Jack scored 2 of his team’s 5 goals, and they won 5-1.  They have not been defeated, and have won all games except for one that they tied.  It was great!  I’m so proud of him!

The party was a lot of fun.  Ends up they did have pizza…and Luke isn’t a dessert or cake person, so they had gotten 3 boxes of donuts, and Luke blew out his candle in a donut.  And the little stinker I think now owns every Incredible Hulk toy on the market.  LOL

All in all, a great day!  Here are a few photos.  I have a huge smile on my face.

Here’s a Hulk mask that was one of the gifts we got him. Clearly a big score.  🙂

They always do a pinata for the boys.  Birthday boy gets first hits.  Luke took it VERY serious this year.  LOL
All of the other younger kids waiting for their turn at the pinata…
And Luke with his birthday donut.  Silly boy.  LOL  (me, I’m a birthday pie kind of girl, so who am I to talk…)
No, that’s not Luke’s Coors Light in the background.  Not sure who it belonged to.  hehehe.  🙂
